A Passion That Became a Profession

Meet Chef & Owner Favio Born in Cuenca, Ecuador, Chef & Owner Favio discovered his passion for hospitality at an early age. At just 14 years old, he stepped into his first professional kitchen—a moment that would shape the rest of his life. After moving to the United States at 17, he dedicated himself to mastering the culinary arts, believing that exceptional food has the power to bring people together and create lifelong memories.

Building a Culinary Foundation

To transform his passion into a career, Favio studied at the prestigious French Culinary Institute in New York City, where he mastered classical French culinary techniques, refined presentation, and the discipline that defines great chefs. He also earned his education in Culinary Arts and Restaurant & Hospitality Management at Gateway Community College, building a strong foundation in both the culinary and business sides of the restaurant industry.

Driven by a lifelong passion for Italian cuisine, Chef Favio has traveled extensively throughout Italy, immersing himself in its culinary traditions, regional flavors, and timeless techniques. From the simplicity of handmade pasta to the elegance of classic Italian cooking, these experiences continue to inspire the dishes served at Serafino's today.
